Love Letter to Funnel Mill Coffee and Tea

When I'm not in the kitchen, I have all the behind the scenes "office work" type stuff to do (including writing this blog! among many other various business owner responsibilities). Since I get easily distracted at home, I head over to a local coffee shop when I need to really focus. Of late, my favorite office away from home has been Funnel Mill Rare Coffee and Tea. I thought I'd do a review, in the form of a love letter.

Dear Funnel Mill,

Why do I love thee? Let me count the reasons:

1. Friendly employees provide detailed instruction on how to prepare and drink their thoughtfully selected teas (While sitting sipping my iced coffee I witnessed this multiple times: Warm the glass first with the hot water. Let steep for 30 seconds, drain into adjacent small tea pot and repeat with remaining water.) Plus, the clear glass tea pots and cups are beautiful!

2. Vegan cookies and pastries that are also gluten free, and absolutely delicious.

3. Non-dairy milk options, including rice milk! Thank you for having more than just soy. I can't drink soy and most other coffee places seem to think this is the only non-dairy option.

4. Variety of sweetener options, including brown sugar, vanilla sugar, organic agave and green stevia.

5. Free password protected wifi and comfy couches to sit on while getting work done. Plus the soothing sound of a waterfall that seems to drown out, or at least lull the usual coffee shop sounds of grinders and cup banging (those sounds are still there, but not prevalent), also help set the tone.  I'm always so productive here!

6. Neighborly atmosphere welcomes conversation with the people around you when you need a break from work, but everyone knows their boundaries of when to let the conversation come to an end and re-focus.
