Last Minute Oscar Party Menu Ideas

Whoa! It's the end of February already, which means Oscar time.  How did that sneak up on us?

On Sunday, I will have the pleasure of teaching a hands on cooking class to six eager students and can't wait!

After, I'll be heading over to a friend's place for the requisite Oscar party.  I have my vote for best picture and although I have not seen all of the films contending, but this one wowed me and I immediately gave it my vote. All it takes is a good story, nail biting moments and a whole lot of heart to win me over! I won't reveal now what my pick is, but I'll confirm after the awards if I was correct.

Anyway, I'm pulling together a list of my favorite appetizers for some great last minute Oscar party menu ideas, in case you're hosting or bring something to a pot luck.  No theme here, just straight up yummy finger food.

Sushi Rolls are a wonderful, versatile option. Play with filling and seasoning to offer a variety of options. 

 

White bean bruschetta is always a hit! 

Falafel bites are a great treat, and something you don't see at most parties (unless you come to my parties as we serve them often!)

Risotto cakes add an elegant flare to any party. 

And of course, we can't forget dessert!  These raw sunflower truffles offer a healthy sweet to round off a decadent feast.
